Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about how Contaste runs a competition - judging, pricing, reliability, languages and what we need from you. Don't see your question? Write to info@contaste.pro.

What is Contaste?

Contaste is a competition management platform and field-production partner for dance and artistic events. It brings registration, online payment, scheduling, licensed judging, real-time results and on-site operations into one system, in 7 languages. You can use just the software, or also bring our on-site field team. See how it works

Which judging systems do you support?

A wide range. Classic skating and ranking systems, point-based scoring, open scoring and battle brackets - each category is configured with its own rules. Rounds can be 'in-heats' (couples on the floor in heats) or 'on-stage' (solo and group performances), which suits ballroom, stage dance, vocal and more.

Do you support our federation's rules and categories?

Yes. The system inherits federation rules - the number passing from a semifinal, tie-breaks and heat rotation - and supports licensed events under WADF, IDO, WDSF and others. Categories, age groups and rules are fully configurable, and settings cascade from the event down to each round.

How much does it cost?

It depends on scope. The software side covers registration, judging and results; on top of that you can add our on-site field team and specialist partners. Participant entry fees are flexible - per-category prices, discounts for multiple entries and a cap on the total. For indicative field-team day rates and terms see the Field Team Invitation page, and write to us for a quote tailored to your event. Field Team Invitation & rates

What do you need from us, the organizer?

The things only you can decide: the concept, categories and rules, the judging panel, the venue and the date. Contaste handles registration, scheduling, judging, results and on-site operations, and manages specialist partners for sound, light, DJ, MC, photo/video and streaming.

What happens if the internet fails on site?

The competition does not depend on the internet. Contaste runs as a local server on the scrutineer's laptop; judge tablets and consoles connect to it over a local Wi-Fi network in real time, and all data is cached locally. The hall keeps running with no connection; online publishing simply catches up once you are back online.

In which languages does the system work?

Seven: English, Russian, Hebrew, Greek, Ukrainian, Bulgarian and Portuguese. Public pages, registration and the interface follow the visitor's language, and Hebrew is fully right-to-left.

How are results calculated, and how fast?

Judges mark on tablets; their marks flow straight into the system, which computes the result the instant marking closes - no paper, no spreadsheets, no manual counting. Results appear online immediately and on the hall's big screen.

Do we have to print anything?

Almost nothing. Schedules, start lists, heat lists and results show online, on the schedule and backstage screens and in the app; diplomas can be self-printed by each participant from their own result page. The one thing usually still printed is competitor numbers.

Can participants register and pay online?

Yes. You choose what to ask (passport, birth date, photo, federation number) and when registration opens and closes; late and on-site entries use the same form. Payment is flexible and can run through your own payment provider, so the money lands directly in your account.

Can you run the whole event, or just the software?

Either. Run the platform yourself as self-service, or bring our on-site field team to operate the floor, tablets, screens and scrutineering. Surrounding production - sound, light, stage, DJ, MC, photo/video, streaming - is delivered through specialist partners we manage for you.

Who owns the data, and is it private?

Your event's data - entries, marks and results - belongs to your event. We process it to run the competition and publish results, and follow our privacy policy. Past results and medal history can also carry into your next event in the series. Privacy policy
