🎨 Competition Categories – Professional Descriptions
In most digital art competitions, the accepted formats are:
👉 It’s best to upload PNG or JPG, unless stated otherwise.
When they say "high quality", they usually mean 3 things:
👉 The higher the resolution, the sharper and clearer the artwork looks.
👉 This is especially important if the judges plan to print the artwork.
👉 If it’s a traditional (hand-drawn) artwork:
🖌️ Still Life
The artwork must be drawn entirely by hand.
Please note: The winner will be invited to a special celebratory dinner. Printed artwork will not be accepted and therefore will not be eligible to participate in the event.
🌄 Landscape
This category includes natural and urban environments such as mountains, oceans, cities, and rural scenery. Artwork is judged on composition, depth, perspective, and atmosphere. The use of color, light, and spatial awareness is essential, as well as the complexity of the scene and the artist’s ability to convey mood and realism or artistic interpretation.
👤 Portrait
This category involves the depiction of human subjects, focusing on facial features, expression, and character. Judging criteria include anatomical accuracy, proportions, emotional depth, and overall execution. Artists are encouraged to capture not only physical likeness but also personality and uniqueness, whether in a realistic or stylized manner.
🐾 Wildlife Art
This category focuses on the depiction of animals in any setting. Submissions are evaluated based on anatomical accuracy, movement, texture (such as fur or feathers), and environmental integration. The difficulty of the subject, composition, and the artist’s ability to capture the essence and spirit of the animal are key factors.
🧙♂️ Fantasy & Sci-Fi Art
This category includes imaginative worlds, creatures, and concepts beyond reality. Judging focuses on creativity, originality, complexity, and world-building. Strong compositions, unique design elements, and the ability to visually communicate a compelling concept or story are highly valued.
✡️ Cultural & Religious Art
This category explores themes related to tradition, heritage, and belief systems. Artwork is judged based on authenticity, symbolism, cultural sensitivity, and artistic quality. Attention to detail, composition, and the respectful and meaningful representation of the subject are important criteria.
